Parkville Set to Close City Hall Deal
Parkville has found a buyer for the existing city hall building which will be vacated after the new one under construction in Parkville Commons is completed and occupied in June or July.
By ordinance last week, the Board of Aldermen authorized Mayor Kathy Dusenbery to sign a real estate sale agreement with the Platte County Health Department for $1.25 million. Closing was set for June 1.
Dusenbery described it as a “win/win” situation, pointing out convenience to local residents and that the present city hall at 1201 East Street adjoins Park University property and the University does not have its own student health facility.
Based in Platte City, the Health Department also has a satellite health center in Riverside. Spokeswoman Susan Hoskins said the Health Department is in the inspection process of the city hall building.
Construction on the new city hall is in full swing.
