Park Hill Warns of Stranger Danger

The Park Hill School District reported Tuesday that another student was approached by a stranger – the third such incident in a month.

The latest incident was said to have occurred near Wexford Place, when a man in a car slowed down to talk to a male English Landing student. According to school officials, the man opened his car door and asked if the boy would like to get in the car. The boy immediately ran home, where he told his mother what happened. She contacted the police, and police said they would increase patrols in the area.

Two weeks ago a little girl walking home from Chinn Elementary was approached by a white man in a gold SUV. He asked her to come to his vehicle, and she screamed and ran over to an older child she saw nearby. The two children ran back to Chinn together, where the principal called the police. Police again said they would increase patrols in the area after the incident.

Both incidents come on the heels of an incident late last month when a student was approached by a man wearing a black jumpsuit and hat. The man claimed to be the boy’s father when a concerned motorist pulled over to enquire. The boy ran to safety.

In response, the District has mailed home “Stranger Danger” tips, which can also be found online at parkhill.k12.mo.us.
