Park Hill approves 2007-2008 budget
Due to a one-time capital expenditure of $2.75 million and a raise in pay, Park Hill School District will spend a little more than they take in during the 2007-08 fiscal year.
Approved last week by the Park Hill School District Board, the $108.4 million budget is a 10.9 percent increase over last year’s budget of $97.7 million.
Salaries and benefits for teachers and employees of the district will make up more than 60 percent of the budget and include a six percent raise. The budget also includes funds for an additional 29 staffers.
The $2.75 capital outlay will mostly go to sewer improve-ments at Union Chapel Road and two office build projects.
The Park Hill School District has experienced steady growth for the past 15 years. In 1992, Park Hill had 6,225 students and an assessed valuation of $455 million. Today the district has an assessed valuation of $1.3 billion and 9,765 students.
